Getting back to the jumping theme, here's a great example of a case where going back to cavaletti would be a neat idea to get the horse to pick up his feet. New rider and a horse new to jumping. They're not doing bad, but if they just keep going over jumps like this and getting them wrong, they're only ever going to learn how to go over jumps wrong. Please please please go back a step (even if you started on cavaletti, go back, he's getting the jumps wrong) and when he's walking, trotting and cantering over the cavaletti and remembering to pick up his feet, not rush and judge his distances, then move onto the jumps (again).
